Child Safety
Safe to Sleep
The American Family Children’s Hospital’s Kohl Safety Center has a Safe to Sleep program. This program provides Dos and Don’ts For safe sleep as well as many resources for parents, caregivers, and educators. Babies & Beyond’s Safe Sleep program works along with the Kohl Safety Center in our commitment to making sure all babies in the Madison area have a safe place to sleep.
Kohl’s Safety Center
Located in the American Family Children’s Hospital, the Safety Center offers a variety of child safety products and injury prevention education materials to families. Look here for info about car seats, baby gates, and more.
Safe Kids Madison Area Coalition (Car Seats)
The Safe Kids Madison Area Coalition educates families, provides safety devices to families in need, and advocate for better laws to help keep children safe, healthy and out of the emergency room.

ARC Community Services is dedicated to helping women reclaim their lives, gain awareness of their personal self-worth, and be empowered to make the changes necessary to improve their welfare along with that of their children and families.
Beacon
The Beacon is a comprehensive day resource center for people who are experiencing homelessness in Dane County. Along with their basic needs services, they are a one-stop resource center for individuals to connect with other area social service agencies who partner with The Beacon.
Elizabeth House
The Elizabeth House is a maternity home for pregnant women or those who have just given birth. They provide a safe and secure environment for mothers to become emotionally healthy and self-sufficient. Residents build life skills that will help them to secure employment and housing, manage money and foster sound decision making.
Healing House (A JustDane Initiative)
Healing House, located in Madison, is an 8-bed facility, providing 24/7 recuperative care by medically-trained staff and volunteers for up to 28 days. Three meals a day and childcare assistance are provided. In addition, case management, provided by The Road Home Dane County, helps to end the cycle of homelessness and locate permanent housing.
Salvation Army Dane County
Salvation Army provides emergency family shelter and single women’s shelter, housing, supportive health, and other county-wide services.
Shelter from the Storm Ministries
Shelter from the Storm is a nonprofit organization in Sun Prairie dedicated to serving the needs of single homeless families in our community.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul offers a food pantry, thrift stores, prescription assistance, furniture and housing to low-income families.

First Care Clinic provides free and confidential pregnancy testing, ultrasounds and STI testing and treatment.

Our Lady of Hope Clinic is a non-profit organization that provides free primary care to the uninsured.
Women’s Care Center
Women’s Care Center provides free, confidential counseling, support, and education to women facing unplanned pregnancies. They also offer free pregnancy tests, STI testing, and free ultrasounds.
