Child Safety

Safe to Sleep

The American Family Children’s Hospital’s Kohl Safety Center has a Safe to Sleep program. This program provides Dos and Don’ts For safe sleep as well as many resources for parents, caregivers, and educators. Babies & Beyond’s Safe Sleep program works along with the Kohl Safety Center in our commitment to making sure all babies in the Madison area have a safe place to sleep.

Beacon

The Beacon is a comprehensive day resource center for people who are experiencing homelessness in Dane County. Along with their basic needs services, they are a one-stop resource center for individuals to connect with other area social service agencies who partner with The Beacon.

Elizabeth House

The Elizabeth House is a maternity home for pregnant women or those who have just given birth. They provide a safe and secure environment for mothers to become emotionally healthy and self-sufficient. Residents build life skills that will help them to secure employment and housing, manage money and foster sound decision making.

Healing House (A JustDane Initiative)

Healing House, located in Madison, is an 8-bed facility, providing 24/7 recuperative care by medically-trained staff and volunteers for up to 28 days. Three meals a day and childcare assistance are provided. In addition, case management, provided by The Road Home Dane County, helps to end the cycle of homelessness and locate permanent housing.
